Keels off and oh my, now there's a challenge !
3 piece keel, main part 3.5 mtr x 2mm to 230mm x 75 Jarrah.
Split & broken just where the shaft goes though, major scarf and shaping !
Oops, fell off !
We can rebuild, we have the technology !
Another bit, a toss up to replace or repair ?
Dead wood, I think the original rudder may have hinged of this?

Most people would say I'm mad, perhaps! anyway the boat turned up about a month ago, lots of shaking of heads and tut tuts, built a platform of sorts to support and re-aline said boat and the journey begins.
Found in a paddock on the outskirts of Denmark, Western Australia, discovered that she was built in Fremantle for a local fisherman many years ago, after a sinking she was fibreglassed, twisted, and was doomed for the paddock.
Fibreglass was de-laminating and upon further investigation found she was batten and seam carvel construction, and ripe for restoration!
A nice long term restoration has begun and acquired for the right price.
Even has it's own garden !
 The boat arrives at ours.
The removal of fibreglass took quite a few days with a couple of very stubborn bits to boot !
Everything is split, rotten, cracked, broken, twisted and even gone.
Now discovered she has a New Zealand Kauri transom and rudder, Jarrah keel and keelson, Karri ribs and battens and some type of malaysian hardwood planks.
 Knees are shot !
Not one rib is worth saving.
Louie standing guard before the removal of the keel.
Best bit of the boat !
Keels off, and another horror story, but completely fixable !
There's going to be some complicated scarfing to be done.
After the keel is repaired, she needs a new keelson and garboard planks.
.Oh dear !
